The good news is that you don't need to upgrade your existing cards to contactless smart cards to combine multi-services on one card. Any system requiring access control can usually be accommodated on a fairly simple card and by using a combination of technologies you can unlock these various systems from a single card. This not only saves money, by reducing the amount of cards you need to purchase, it also benefits the environment by lowering the amount of plastic in circulation.
