Recently Blacktown Leisure Centre completed a major $8million stage two development in order to offer its community exciting new leisure and recreational opportunities.
The core features of this development includes the all new 1,200 square metre Dennis Johnson Library which includes a children's storytelling area, youth lounge, technology area, plaza area and Blacktown City's first drive-thru book drop off point, a considerable gym extension which includes a designated spin cycle studio, increased car parking, a social lounge to provide members with a space to unwind after a work out, an extended crèche facility, a squash court, a new swim school office, the relocation and increase in size of the main reception to provide a central service point and a remodelled café.
Such developments and enhancements did not end with just the building itself however, and in order to reach their full potential other aspects were also acquired and employed by the council. In helping to make the new reception area the central point of the development and therefore customer service the continued number one priority the council also purchased an all new leisure management software solution. After a vigorous tender process Gladstone's flagship Plus2 system was chosen for its rich functionality and reliability whilst also being backed and supported by a long established market leader. The system's CRM and online capabilities fulfilled all of the council's current and future requirements as they saw the need to eventually provide for online membership bookings, membership purchase and membership renewal. Centre Manager Kevin Jones stated that 'in keeping with our commitment to provide the best levels of service and products to our members we look for the same such qualities from our suppliers and we found these in Gladstone.'
